Walker PTO Book Fair: Fall 2009

First of all, we would like to take a moment to say "Thank You!" Our book fair was a huge success. We set a goal to sale $2500. We achieved our goal on the 3rd day of the fair! This has been the most profitable book fair in over 2 years!

The PTO assigned each classroom a country to research and then take that information and place it on their door in a creative frenzy! We were so excited to see everyone participate! We understand the teachers were extremely busy, and were still able to take the time to decorate their door. Thank You!!! The students, staff, and parents enjoyed walking down the halls to look at everyone's door. Once again, thank you!

Deciding the overall winner in the Decorate-the-Door contest was extremely hard. In fact, it was so hard, the PTO decided to award one winner in each grade level rather than 1 overall winner. We could tell that the students had a great time and attained tons of cool facts. Popsicles were awarded to the winning classes.

Fourth Grade: Room 13- (Brazil)

Fifth Grade: Tie! Room 7 (Sweden), Room 5 (India)

Sixth Grade: Room 4 (Japan)

We hope to see a great turnout tomorrow at the PTO meeting. We will be brainstorming ways to utilize our Book Fair profits. Also, following the meeting, we will be packing up the left over materials and cleaning up the PTO room. Please plan to stay and help us wrap up the book fair! We will need all of the extra hands we can get!

Thanks to all who made this book fair so successful! I have some great ideas for the Spring 2010 book fair!

Parents are encouraged to join the Walker PTO. Notice of meetings will be sent home in the Bi-weekly News Letter. Money is raised by PTO fund-raising efforts will go back to the school for field trips, supplies and special activities.
