Say Hello to Spike our Media Center Mascot. He guards our entrance to learning adventures! He was created by JPS students in the ART II classes

 

JPS Students voted schoolwide for his name. He is a Tyrannosaurus Rex and has helped us learn many interesting facts about dinosaurs.

This school year we have received over 800 new books in our Media Center collection. All students have been eagerly exploring new adventures every day.

                             NC Children's Book Awards                                                                                                           

This school year we will be reading the nominees for the NC Children's Picture Book Awards.

the NC winners for 2009 were Who is Melvin Bubble? in the Picture Book category and Diary of a Wimpy Kid in the fiction category.

Students in one of our JPS classes have elected to celebrate their birthdays by donating a book to the Media Center collection. A bookplate with their name will be placed in the book in their honor and the book shared with other JPS students. All students are welcome to participate !
