2008 CLDS SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION

SEPTEMBER 18, 2008

The Camp Lejeune School Board will hold its Election on Thursday, September 18, 2008 to fill upcoming vacancies on the School Board. All Camp Lejeune schools will run an election site from 0730-1700 hours on this day.

A candidate may be any active duty person or their spouse residing in permanent Base Housing at Camp Lejeune or Marine Corps Air Station, New River.  Anyone desiring to be a candidate must file for office with the Assistant Superintendent, Camp Lejeune Dependents Schools.  A candidate must be nominated by one (1) eligible voter.  Beginning May 5, 2008, the forms for filing will be available at any one of the seven Base schools and at the Office of the Assistant Superintendent, Building 855 Stone Street.

Candidates will be allowed to file required documents beginning May 5 until close of business (1630) on September 4, 2008.  The term of office will be for a three-year term.

Eligible voters are parents or legal guardians of students enrolled in Camp Lejeune Dependents Schools at the time of the election.  Each parent or guardian is entitled to one vote and must do so in person at the time of the Election.  Individuals will be required to show proof of identification at the voting site.
