Tarawa Terrace 1 Primary School is a DoDEA School (Department of Defense Educational Activity) and part of the Camp Lejeune Dependents Schools system. It is located on the Tarawa Terrace I base housing community which is connect to the Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.
We are an early childhood primary school covering grades PreK-1 with an approximate enrollment of 226 students.
The Preschool staff focuses their efforts on parent education as well as helping the child develop within the classroom. Wednesdays are devoted to home visits and parent workshops. This year we are continuing our early release on Wednesday for Kindergarten and First Grade. Students are released at 2:00.
Kindergarten and First grade follow the DoDEA Curriculum Standards. The staff feels they have created a warm and supportive atmosphere for our ever changing population.
