***Month of the Military Child "Patch of Honor" Design Contest***
April is the Month of the Military Child, a time when we celebrate the important role children play in the Armed Forces community through their commitment, courage and unconditional support of their parents. Graciela Tiscareno-Sato's book, "Good Night Captain Mama," gives military children an insight to the service of their military parent and provides a vehicle for children to make connections in their lives by designing and decorating their own patches, just like those on Captain Mama's uniform. Therefore, in recognition of the contributions and sacrifices of military children, we are inviting students to submit their own design of a Patch of Honor.
About DoDEA’s Common Core State Standards
We will need the help of everyone in the school community - students, parents, teachers, administrators, and military leaders, to make the transition to the Common Core State Standards a success. Click here for more information.
