School ImprovementOur school, along with all the other schools aboard Camp Lejeune, is involved in a continual renewal process for accreditation. Two years ago we submitted our paperwork and had a team of evaluators from the North Carolina Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) visit our school and found that we met the requirements for accreditation. Now we are beginning our next renewal period that ends during the school year 2011 and 2012. Our accreditation will now be through AdvancEd instead of NCA CASI. This change occurred because NCA CASI merged with another accreditation group under a new name. We are very excited about the changes because AdvancEd represents 23,000 public and non-public schools which serve more than 15 million students. "Together we share a commitment to help schools and districts improve on behalf of their students" is the purpose of AdvancEd. Our school has a committee with members from our faculty and our administration that help guide the school through this process. Our entire faculty is very active at continuing to improve and work towards accreditation. Parents and members of the community are important partners in this process as well and we welcome you to be a participant.
