I am not an advocate of homework over holidays, so you will not have homework over Thanksgiving (except for the project and 13/25 books) or over Christmas.  In between those holidays we are buckling down and will have more homework than usual.  See below.

#1 Important thing for you to know....your child must complete 13 books and do some sort of evidence or test on them before January 15th.  They have known about this all year.  Second project information is below.  Students can work on this and present as soon as they are ready....good thing to get done before the holidays!

I had planned on teaching The Tale of Despereaux as part of my author study of Kate DiCamillo in the winter....but since the movie is coming out I am moving up the study of this book so that the kids can read it before they see the movie.  It is an audio book that we are doing but they will have a print book to look at if they choose.  There will be quizzes and take home worksheets.  IF YOU DON'T GO OUT OF TOWN, please plan on joining me on Sunday, December 21st, early in the day, to see the movie as a group at Potomac Mills.  I thought that might be fun.  As the date draws near, I'll pick a time that hopefully won't conflict with Sunday activities.  (Yes, this will count towards their 13/25 books...)  :)
