I am pleased that you have decided to accept the challenge of AP English next school year. This will be a rigorous course which will cover important works of American Literature, both fiction and nonfiction. You will be required to do a significant amount of reading and writing outside of the regular class time. It is expected that you will complete the following reading and writing assignments during the summer. The works selected for summer reading are representative of the literary traditions and will be used as examples of literary technique, or as the basis for discussion of other works.
