As you begin the admission process, it's important to understand that admission deadlines can vary based on the admission program used by the school.

Regular admission: Your application must be received by a set date. Decision letters are mailed in the spring.

Open admission: Colleges accept all high school graduates without meeting additional qualifications such as test scores or specific high school courses.

Rolling admission: Applications are reviewed and a decision rendered as they come in rather than all at once after a certain deadline. Try to get your application in as early in the fall as possible.

Deferred enrollment: You have an opportunity to delay enrollment for a semester or year.

Early admission: Is appealing if you are certain of your first choice college. The student applies in the fall (usually November) and hears within a month. There are two types of early programs:  early action and early decision .

Delayed/provisional admissions: You are accepted for admission but not necessarily for the fall semester or the upcoming year.
