NY & VA Curriculum and Assessment
Our schools' curriculum are aligned to the DoDEA academic standards. Our academic programs follow a six-year curriculum cycle. The different curriculum areas go through an intensive review process which includes: program review, standards review/revision, instructional materials review/adoption, implementation, and assessment review/revision.
One of the best ways of monitoring student progress and helping our students succeed is through standardized assessments. These assessments are designed to measure student achievement in academic subjects. This information is used to help teachers and parents determine the strengths and needs of students, and to provide accountability for our schools.
