Welcome to Fourth Grade

In fourth grade we work on organizational skills and good study habits. Students are taught how to study for tests by using notes, outlines, study sheets, and the text.

Fourth grade subjects :

• Language Arts. This includes reading, writing, and speaking & listening. Emphasis is on literature, writing, and grammar usage.
• Math. Students learn about the relationship of numbers and number systems. The fourth grade math program will enable students to understand the meaning of operations and how they relate to one another. Problem solving using critical thinking is stressed.
• Science. Students learn how to use the scientific inquiry method. Topics include physical science, life science, and space.
• Social Studies. Students explore the regions of the United States and the world which enables them to make global connections in regard to culture, location, economy, and government.

Grading

The grading scale for fourth grade is as follows:

• A: 90-100%
  B: 80-90%
  C: 70-80%
  D: 60-70%
  F: Below 60%
• We encourage sponsors in grades 4 and above to sign up for a Gradespeed account so you may better monitor your student's progress

Homework

Homework assignments are written on the board each day. A weekly homework assignment log is handed out each Monday. Students are required to write down their homework assignments each day.
