Welcome to Middle School
Grades Six, Seven, & Eight

Middle School students switch classes, use hallway lockers, and  have several different teachers.  Organization is a key to smooth transitions between classes as well as to success with class work.  Teachers act as facilitators to guide students organizationally and academically.

Grading

The grading scale for middle school is as follows:

• A+: 97-100%
  A: 93-96%
  A-: 90-92%
  B+: 87-89%
  B: 83-86%
  B-: 80-82%
  C+: 77-79%
  C: 73-76%
  C-: 70-72%
  D+: 67-69%
  D: 63-66%
  D-: 60-62%
  F: 59% and below
• We encourage middle school sponsors to sign up for a Gradespeed account so you may better monitor your student's progress.

Homework

Research shows that students who read daily have improved reading comprehension as well as advanced vocabulary.  These skills, in turn, promote not only good test scores, but a good education as well.  Expect homework daily.
