Home Volunteer Aides We look forward to your joining us. Volunteers provide a large and untapped source of potential service for education; therefore, we welcome you as a partner in enriching the program.
Professional educators and community leaders realize the importance of the volunteer because you:
- Represent a vital link between the school and the community,
- Extend and enrich the instructional program through your specialized skills or knowledge, or
- Provide more opportunities for students to relate to adults on a one-to-one basis.
When the schools and communities work together, the schools become "our schools" rather than "their schools." Only by a cooperative effort on the part of the volunteer and the school staff can best results be achieved for the students in the New York & Virginia Domestic Dependent Elementary & Secondary Schools.
