Russell Elementary School Focus:
Mission Statement:
Our school community provides quality opportunities
and experiences that inspire the children of our military families to become
creative problem solvers, life-long learners, and productive members of a
diverse technological world.
The entire school will focus on Literacy and Math
this school year. We have selected two
goals to assist us in increasing our students' achievement.
Using DoDEA's Goal 1 - Student Achievement -
the following two goals and interventions were chosen for
Russell's Continuous School Improvement.
Outcome A
School wide Academic Goal 1:
All students will improve their
writing skills across the curriculum.
Essence of Goal 1: Facilitate
the process of writing, in a developmental manner, to improve the ability
to communicate ideas effectively in written form.
School wide Academic Goal 2:
All students will improve their
math problem solving skills across the curriculum.
Essence of Goal 1: Facilitate
the process of problem solving, in a developmental manner, using the four
step problem solving method - Understand - Plan - Solve - Look Back.
Every member of the staff is on one of four teams.
These teams developed action plans to carry out the five strategies.
The Teams Are:
1 - Literacy
2 - Acadamic Support
3 -Research and Analysis
4 - Communication/Partnership Network
We would like parental participation on these teams. If you are interested
in working on one,
we encourage you to contact the school.
