Russell Elementary School Focus:

Mission Statement:
Our school community provides quality opportunities and experiences that inspire the children of our military families to become creative problem solvers, life-long learners, and productive members of a diverse technological world.

The entire school will focus on Literacy and Math this school year.  We have selected two goals to assist us in increasing our students' achievement.
Using DoDEA's Goal 1 - Student Achievement - the following two goals and  interventions were chosen for
school year 2007-2008:

Outcome A

School wide Academic Goal 1: All students will improve thier writing skills across the curriculum.

Essence of Goal 1: Facilitate the process of writing, in a developmental manner, to improve the ability to communicate ideas effectively in written form.

School wide Academic Goal 2: All students will improve their problem solving skills across the curriculum.

Draft Essence: Facilitate the process of problem solving, in a developmental manner, using the four step problem solving method - Understand - Plan - Solve - Look Back.

Every member of the staff is on one of four teams.
These teams developed action plans to carry out the five strategies.

We would like parental participation on these teams.  If you are interested in working on one,
we encourage you to contact the school.
