Furlough Information

The Secretary of Defense has determined that most Department of Defense (DoD) civilian employees will be furloughed for up to 11 days. However, the Secretary approved for our teachers and some school level support staff to be furloughed for up to 5 days before September 30, 2013. For West Point Schools, these five furlough days will be 13 September, 16 September, 20 September, 23 September, and 30 September.  Schools will be closed for students and teachers on these five days if the furlough is enacted. 

West Point Schools will begin for students on 29 August 2013.  The outstanding educators, administrators, and support staff of the New York, Virginia, Puerto Rico district remain committed to providing our students a quality educational experience and supporting our military families.  Your continued support is appreciated during this time.  Please contact your child's school or the District Superintendent's Office with any questions you may have at this time.
