The study of color theory begins with the concepts taught with the color wheel. These include Primary Colors, Secondary Colors, Complimentary Colors, Analogous Colors, Warm and Cool Colors. The students were challenged to design their own color wheels, that have both good design and work as a color wheel |

These paintings were completed during the study of the Element of Art-Color. They worked from digital pictures, studied and employed good aspects of composition, then created the paintings using a complimentary color scheme |

| The students
in 6th grade, in conjunction with the math department, study the art of tessellation. The lessons began with a study of the art of M.C. Escher, onr of the greatest artist who was as passionate about math as he was about his art. |
