Dear Parents of Eighth Grade Students,
The DoDEA science curriculum at West Point Middle School
has indeed prepared your child for a smooth transition into O’Neill High School
this fall. Integrated topics such as
physical, life, earth and space sciences remain the focus of the eighth grade
science program. Additionally, the opportunity
to take the NY Earth Science regents
exam is available to all students wishing to demonstrate proficiency of the
NY state earth science curriculum.
Please take time to review the attached exam descriptions and
available resources listed below as you help your child make a decision to
pursue this challenge. Regents content will continue to be highlighted as it is
presented as part of DoDEA standards-based instruction, but the responsibility
for preparing for this regents exam ultimately rest upon you and your
child. Earth Science textbooks may be
checked out for home use.
