The next two weeks we will continue to introduce the letters and sounds. We will work on T,U,V, and W. We also frequently review all the letters we have taught to date. In math we will continue with the numbers 1-10. Many of the children are still having difficulty writing the numbers correctly. We will be studying woodland animals in unit. We will also talk about Veteran’s Day and proper care and handling of the American Flag.

Grandparent Letters

The children have had fun receiving letters at school. Please relay my thanks and appreciation to all those who sent “us” things. We received mail from 17 states as well as Puerto Rico and Germany!

This and That

• Thank you to all the parents who sent in supplies for the Halloween Party. The children had a great time!

• Daylight Savings Time ends – set clocks back 1 hour this weekend

• Wednesday, November 4th – Wear your favorite T-shirt

• Saturday, November 7th – 10:00 – 3:00 PTA Fall Festival with the AAAA Chili Cook-off

• Wednesday, November 11th Veterans’ Day Holiday– No school

• November 16th-20th – American Education Week

• Wednesday to Friday, November 25th – 27th Thanksgiving Holidays At Veterans’ Day

I thank you for serving in the United States military. I also thank your families for the sacrifices they make as you serve to preserve our American way of life.

Good News

Our class won the PTA’s prize for having had the most Box Tops and Campbell’s Soup Labels turned in at the Primary School for the first quarter! We will have a Popsicle next week. Thank you and keep on sending them in. The schools receive a good amount of money from that program.

Halloween

The Primary School will have a costume parade on Friday, October 30th at 9:00. Parents and friends are welcome to come and see the parade which will be behind the school. You must show I.D. to come into the viewing area! There will also be a class party at 2:00 that afternoon. Room Mothers will contact some parents to donate supplies for the party.

Homework

The homework “buddies” that have come in are wonderful. I am always amazed at the wide range of materials and the creativity families use to complete the project! For those who are still working on your project, remember they are due by Monday.
