Carol Hurst's Children's Literature Site - Book review, teaching ideas, lists of author sites. This is a good place to browse for literature ideas.

Book Adventure - Book Adventure is a free reading incentive program for K-12 students. There are over 4,000 books to choose from and quizzes given on each title. Points which can be redeemed for prizes are awarded. Teachers can set up a class and have their students log on. There is a useful teacher and parent section also.

The Flat Stanley Project - This is the official Flat Stanley project web site. See what classrooms around the world are doing with Flat Stanley. Join special projects to support various needs.

The Grouchy Ladybug WebQuest - This webquest is designed for 1st and 2nd graders. The link to the main character activity page doesn't load, but it's worth taking a look at.

Summer Reading List - Education World and Barnes and Noble put together book reading lists by grade level along with book reviews to help you make choices for good books to read this summer.

Starfall - Where children learn to read. Learn to read using an interactive flash based activity. Introduces phonemes. One activity for the emergent reader and one for the advanced emergent reader. There are also useful teacher resources to assist with your reading program.

The Story Place - This site uses Flash movies to retell popular children's stories. You can choose English or Spanish and even print out the stories. 

Children's Storybooks Online - Children can read storybooks online, do puzzles, hear sounds, etc.

Mathematics

Kids' Place Houghton Mifflin Mathematics - Provides practice in answering math problems based on grade level and concept. Students can also interact with tutuorials on problem solving strategies.

Silver Burdett Ginn Mathematics

NCTM Illuminations - This site is designed to help teachers "translate NCTM principles and standards for school mathematics into classroom practice." Each grade level section of the site includes lesson plans, video vignettes of teaching and learning, interactive lessons for students, and an interactive version of NCTM math standards. The interactive iMath Investigations include lessons for every grade level. For instance, K-2 students can get the turtle to the pond using geometry and programming.

A+ Math - You can create flash cards and work sheets tailored to each child's study needs. Watch out for pop up ads.

Max's Math Adventures - Activities are designed for K-2. There is an online teacher's manual to accompany the program.

MathTools - Good site for teachers. "A digital library of technology tools and support materials to help you use them in your teaching and learning of mathematics"
