March/April/May Speech Activities

For the next 3 months we will be focusing on the theme Spring. This will include seasons, gardening, bugs, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. We will be incorporating the following books into therapy:

Spring Is Here – teacher made – focusing on Spring vocabulary and seasons

The Very Hungry Catepillar – Eric Carle – focusing on sequencing and “wh” questions and the concept “through”.

The Quiet Cricket – Eric Carle – focusing on vocabulary and the concepts “quiet” and “noisy”

The Lonely Firefly – Eric Carle – focusing on vocabulary and feeling concepts

Growing Vegetable Soup – Lois Ehlert – focusing on sequencing and garden vocabulary

Tops and Bottoms – Janet Stevens - focusing on vocabulary and the concepts “top” and “bottom”

Clifford, Spring – Norman Bridwell – focusing on vocabulary, pronouns and verb concepts.

Spring – Gail Sunders-Smith – focusing on plurals, pronouns and Spring concepts

Please continue to read to your child everyday. This promotes language development as well as imagination. Check you child’s homework folder daily. Homework is important for carry-over of skills!
