Campus Maintenance Supervisors:
Most Efficient Organization (MEO) - The Logistics Services’ MEO has developed as the government’s organizational entity for performing the scope of work and tasks required for logistical functions in the district. The MEO was meant to provide efficiently and minimize cost to the taxpayer and maximize service to the customers. There is currently a custodial contract in place at Ft. Stewart to support the custodial function in scope and will be retained as a MEO subcontract to complete the requirements. The workforce responds to service calls, performs preventive maintenance and maintenance repairs, provides materials and student transportation, ensures the safety and security of the buildings, and ensures the school environments are clean, safe and healthy for all. Maintenance Management- The maintenance department receives an average of 100 requests a week. These tasks range from the simple leaky faucet to the very complex such as installation of heating/air and ventilating cooling (HVAC) equipment. Given that the maintenance function is under a MEO it makes it more critical to track and maintain efficiency. It was our challenge to improve the way the work order process is handled. This includes submitting the work order, getting it approved and into the hands of the person who will perform the work quicker. We have been working closely with DDESS ASC and DoDEA in procuring a program that will provide this capability. DoDEA contracted a company named Schooldude.com to accommodate our needs. They are known for their powerful, web-native work and maintenance management tools. One of its maintenance management modules is called Maintenance Direct™; it is a designed to help with streamlining the entire maintenance work order process from request to completion. This is a web-based work management tool which enables requesters to submit work requests and check the status of requests online anytime. It has the capability to automatically communicate feedback with requesters for improved customer service. Maintenance Direct™ was deployed in November 2005. |
