Kindergarten Enrollment
Parents planning to enroll a child in the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) kindergarten for the coming school year should be aware of the entrance requirements before making an appointment to register a child in school. See the DoDEA Media Advisory for more information.

Galer Principal Named
Ms. Gladys Blount, who is a product of DoDEA schools, comes to Beaufort, SC, from Kadena Middle School, Okinawa, where she was the assistant principal. See the article.


WT Sampson Principal Named

Ms. Sonja Rodriguez will be taking the reigns of W.T. Samson school beginning SY 2010. She will be coming to us from E.J. King Middle/High School in Sasebo, Japan, in DODDS Pacific. See her biography here.

  • Every student MUST sign the new Form 6600.1-F2 (Feb 2010) this school year (SY 10/11).
  • As long as the student remains enrolled in that school they do not need to sign the form again as the original will remain on file for the duration of the enrollment.
  • If/when the student changes schools (elementary to middle, etc) then a new form will have to be signed at the follow on school.
  • If the form is revised new implementing instructions will be forwarded at that time.

The South Carolina - Fort Stewart - Cuba Schools Welcomes You!

Welcome to the South Carolina - Fort Stewart Schools. We are part of a large consolidated district of the Department of Defense Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools. We are comprised of the schools at Laurel Bay in Beaufort South Carolina, Fort Jackson in Columbia South Carolina and Fort Stewart in Hinesville Georgia. Our students represent three branches of the Armed Forces; Marine Corps, Navy and Army. The primary objective of the program so that each student will become a lifelong learner able to achieve sucess in a global community.

We realize the importance of our partnership with parents, the greater school community and the military commands. We encourage you to become an active participant in your child's school improvement process. Our continuous committment to the school improvement process is outlined in the 2006-2011 DoDEA Community Strategic Plan (CSP). The CSP has set forth the following four goals as the blueprint for our school's endeavors and initiatives:

  • Motivated, High Performing, Diverse Workforce
  • Promoting Student Development through Partnerships and Communication


The District Superintendent maintains offices at each of the three locations. The district headquarters is located at Fort Stewart.

Ft. Stewart Rezoning Plan
Due to changes in housing construction and development, Ft. Stewart Schools will be rezoning their schools. Information has already been sent home by students pertaining to this effort. Please continue to check back here for the latest information.
