Our school counseling program offers many services to our students, including:

  • Individual counseling
  • Small group counseling
  • Classroom Guidance Activities

Small Groups

Small groups run throughout the school year and are available by requesting through the counseling office.  Some groups that are available to students include:

  • deployment
  • divorce
  • anger management
  • impulse control
  • social skills.

Gator Traits

The counselors, along with the PTA, are involved in our character education program, Gator Traits.   Our Gator Traits are character traits that help our students to become responsible citizens and "Good Gators!"   Each month we have a new Gator Trait which is publicized in the Gator Gram and on the marquee outside of the school.

Good Gators are chosen every month for exhibiting the character trait.

Conferences:

  • Be on time. Each teacher has a certain amount of time set aside to meet with the parents. If you are late, you risk not meeting with your child's teacher. If you need to reschedule, please call the school.
  • Ask questions about your child's progress. Write down your questions prior to the conference. If ther are any circumstances that you feel that the teacher should be made aware of, please share them with the teacher.
  • Ask if it would benefit your child to attend the conference.
  • The school counselors and administrators are available on conference days as well. You are welcome to make appointments to meet with administrators or walk-in to meet with the counselors.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the School Counseling Offices.

Homework Tips

  • Make sure that the homework is written down in one place. - Assignment notebooks/agendas are helpful for this.
  • Divide the homework into "bite size" segments.
  • Set a time for each segment.
  • Find a quiet place to do homework. - Television and music may be a distraction and can keep total focus from the assignment.
  • Take short breaks between segments.
  • Review the homework when it is completed.
  • Diamond Elementary School has awesome teachers that are willing to help if your child has a question with homework. Contact the teacher with any questions that you may have
