Welcome to our school website!

Linda KiddHello, I am Dr. Odessa Morman, assistant principal. Georgia is my home state. I am a product of Georgia, although I attended Savannah State (College) University, Valdosta State (College) University, Georgia State University, I have lived in another state and abroad. I worked at Fort Stewart Schools for the past sixteen years and have watched the school system evolve from two schools to three. Being an educator has afforded me the opportunity of working closely with our grass-roots residents, military affiliates, and those who choose to retire in this lovely area purely for the aesthetics and rich history.

I knew early on that working with children was my gift. After graduating from Savannah State (College) University with a degree in elementary education, I returned to southwest Georgia, my hometown of, of Camilla, GA to accept my first teaching position. I worked with Mitchell County School System for eight years. While there, I received my master's degree from Georgia State University. I married my spouse, who is now retired from the US Army and completed my Specialist Degree in Middle Grades Education from Georgia Southwestern College. We then moved to Fort Polk, LA. This was my first affiliation with military life and I became gainfully employed by Vernon Parish Schools. I worked with only military children at Fort Polk Elementary School, Fort Polk, LA. After five years, my spouse received Permanent Change of Station (PCS) to Europe. I worked with DoDDS for three years. Upon my spouse's retirement, we returned to our hometown, Camilla, GA.

I spent most of my career teaching middle grades. As an educator, I am a lifelong learner and marveled at the opportunity to work again with military children, thus my relocation to Hinesville, GA and Diamond Elementary School. I have been successful in obtaining a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership. My work has allowed me to collaborate with administrators at all levels to plan, implement, and monitor effective teaching strategies for students.

As an educational leader, I have the opportunity to positively influence hundreds of lives daily. Before making any decision, I always ask myself: WHAT IS BEST FOR THE CHILDREN?

It is my hope that you will allow me to work with you to meet any educational needs you might have. I am sure you will find that our school "sparkles" just like the wonderful, "brilliant" children that we work with each day!
